If you're a health care facility manager, you may want to take a look at what's going on in California.

The Golden State has seen a dramatic increase in the number of long-term-care facilities going under, as well as the cost of care, in recent years, the Los Angeles Times reports.

And that's led to a slew of new regulations and best practices designed to help manage those facilities more effectively.

The American Society of Health Care Facility Management's annual conference, which runs from July 21 to July 24, is one of the best places to find out what's out there, the Times notes.
