A Florida credit union founded nearly 90 years ago by 23 educators has just become the first financial institution to be named a "Pegasus Partner" at the University of Central Florida, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
According to a press release, the Pegasus Partner designation is given to organizations that share the university's "vision and commitment to continuing to lead the region in key industries such as aerospace, engineering, defense, optics, digital media, finance, and healthcare."
UCF President Alexander Cartwright says the credit union's support of the university "speaks volumes to the deep commitment we share in improving the Central Florida community."
Kevin Miller, president and CEO of Addition Financial Credit Union, says the credit union is "proud to be the first financial institution to be a UCF Pegasus Partner."
The credit union has given more than $70,000 in scholarships and more than $60,000 in K-12 classroom renovations and grants over the last decade.
UCF's College of Business says the credit union is a "core supporter" of the college, hosting 1.4 million visitors over the last five years to UCF basketball games, concerts, and other events.
